Flip My Resolution
/At this time of year, when folks set their minds and hearts to creating resolutions, I’m going to try something new. Instead of focusing on something that needs fixing, I’m going to learn to appreciate what is working for me. I’ll look for ways to foster a nurturing environment to allow those aspects of my life to flourish. In short, I intend to love myself more. Here are some things I'm thinking about:
1. Make time for me
I'll let go of feeling guilty about needing to be constantly productive and carve out free time to do whatever makes me happy (including nothing at all). I intend to give myself permission to be lazy.
2. Forgive me
I'll forgive myself for not being the perfect person or partner; for not being thin enough, or put together enough. I intend to do my best with the hand that's been dealt to me, and will let my best be good enough.
3. Learn to say no
I'll practice saying no, without the need for excuses or having to justify myself. I intend to not sacrifice my peace for the sake of someone else's comfort.
This year, I invite you to put the same energy that would normally be focused on your short-comings into recognizing what ROCKS about you. If it doesn't work out, you can always go back to resolutions next year.
Peace.
